Providing the best quality experience to customers has become a priority in most organizations today. If you are considering a software developer course, read on to understand how this demand is bringing a new surge of enthusiasm for QA engineers.

What are the Current Testing Trends in the IT industry?

1. Agile Methodology: Organizations are now required to be agile and be more focused on their competencies to compete and thrive in a fast-moving and ever-changing IT environment. Agile methodologies are based on the need for continuous development. Specifications and solutions are performed through proactive communication across all teams. Currently, it is one of the fastest and most adopted trends in the industry. Quality becomes the shared responsibility of all the teams.

2. Automating Tests: There will be a continued rise in test automation. To date, many organizations do manual testing in delivery pipelines, and a slowing down of the value chain in such an environment is inevitable. Automation of tests requires a long time and dedication. Many organizations, at least, have test automation in parts, but there’s a lot more to do. This is one of the top reasons why automated testing will be on-demand.

3. Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning:  As per a MarketsAndMarkets report, the test automation market size is anticipated to grow from $12.6 billion in 2019 to $28.8 billion in 2024 at a compound annual growth rate of 18%.

Most organizations are needed to run thousands of tests daily. Testing even a minor change can take hours or even days to share some feedback. Facebook and Google have developed a machine-learning algorithm that can analyze new changes and run only those that need work. This method is called predictive test selection.

Predictive testing is so fast that it reduces long hours of testing which are again run if they are considered to be most relevant to the source changes. A one-hour run can now be completed in 6 minutes.

The scope for quality assurance engineers is massive even in the future and surging demands in the software industry are assuring that more innovation is on the way.
