South African hotelier, Sol Kerzner, will be celebrating the launch of his new Dubai resort with a party so extravagant, that it will be seen from space, claim its organisers.
With 1,500-rooms and 16 restaurants, the 1 billion pound Atlantis resort is a joint enterprise with the Dubai Royal Family owned Nakheel corporation. The mammoth structure also includes outposts of Nobu and Giorgio Locatelli.
Around 2,000 VIP guests, including Hollywood stars, heads of state and billionaire business moguls, will attend the star-studded grand opening of the Atlantis, reports Telegraph.Billed as “a party to end all parties,” the celebrations will see Kylie Minogue performing in her first concert in the Middle East. According to estimates, the final bill for the four-day beachside celebrations will run over 15 million pounds.
Atlantis is constructed on The Palm Jumeirah, a man-made island complex off the Dubai coast, which has been built to resemble a palm tree when seen from above.A fireworks display is planned for the grand party, which will cover all 43km of the development, reports the Telegraph.
Put together by the pyrotechnics experts behind the Olympics opening ceremony, the display will be on a scale 10 times larger than the Beijing Games display and will be visible from space, claimed the organisers. The party invitations will be sent out this week – each studded with hundreds of pounds worth of Swarovski crystals.
