Let’s have a quick look at the best viewing places across the globe:
North and South America will see the showers best between midnight and dawn on morning at slightly east sky.
Asia will see the best meteor showers, confirm NASA scientists. The show will be best seen between 2:00 and 5:00 am, 200-300 visible in an hour. If you are in India, peak time will be around 3:15am IST.
Europe can see the meteors about midnight when Leo will rise at a rate of max 25 per hour just before dawn.
Australia and Antarctica will hardly see the meteor shower because the constellation Leo doesn’t rise too far above the horizon in Australia. The South Pole will be completely left out and won’t see any Leonid at all.
Meteors are long, slow and colorful; they are among the most beautiful. An hour of watching may show only a few of these at most, but seeing even one can make the whole night worthwhile. Meteors are long, slow and colorful; they are among the most beautiful thing to see in the sky. A clear night, bright meteors skipping overhead and the peak is here. What could be better? What could one ask for more?
For those who have still not seen the show, have a look at the videos and make sure to run to a dark place without the city lights. Make as many wish as you want all night long with every shooting star falling by…
