Pink slip or pink slip party is a very new concept rather a campaign that is being carried out in America. Voters disappointed over health care and other legislative efforts have now sent 5 million “pink slips” to members of Congress, pink slip congress the conservative Web site WorldNet Daily said on Tuesday.
“These pink slips are a call for fiscally responsible and constitutionally responsible Americans,” said Rep. Steve King of Iowa.
WND launched a program three weeks ago allowing Americans to send individually addressed “pink slips” to every member of Congress for a price of just $29.95. So far, nearly 3.5 million have been ordered, with about half already on their way to the Capitol. Many of the “pink slips” just arrived this week, after being delayed for delivery by Capitol mailroom authorities because of the sheer volume. But they are now making their way to individual offices of every senator and representative.
The pink slips program is a great way to get the attention of members who have forgotten they will have to answer to the people next year on out-of-control spending and Washington power grabs,” said Rep. Michelle Bachmann, R-Minn., yesterday. “I support it! And I want my constituents to know I hear them loud and clear.”
Standing in front of posterboards on which dozens of the pink pieces of paper had been attached, Franks told reporters, “You are looking at just a sample of the 5 million pink slips that Americans have sent to Congress.”
Those Americans, he said, are “people who are saying to members of Congress that ‘we are fed up with the absolute out-of-control spending, and we are going to respond and do what we can to take our country back.’ ”
World Net Daily, among its other products, offers the online sale of a bumper sticker that says “You lie!” The words have become a slogan against a range of Democratic issues, popularized after an outburst in September by Republican Rep. Joe Wilson of South Carolina during a presidential speech about health care.
The campaign will be a big hit and hopefully the peoples demand is fulfilled…
