Google’s spanking new Real-Time Search!

What’s new? Google’s spanking new real time search result! It is the most awesome innovation by Google this year. Earlier this year Google brought the sizzling new ORKUT the social networking site and now this. Google is surely keeping their followers interested in them.

The real time search is very cool. “Google Real Time search is Google’s relevance technology meeting the real-time web,” said Google Fellow Amit Singhal. “There is so much information being generated, that relevance is the key to any product and that’s where Google comes in.”

So what’s the deal? Now when you search for something in Google, you will see the page contains a scrolling box of real-time updates that constantly update even as you scan through the other links. Clicking through takes one to a page of real-time scrolling updates.

The key to keeping the updates relevant is that Google judges “Author quality” “probability of relevance” and “query hotness,” according to Singhal. “That’s what real-time search is all about,” Singhal said.

Google’s VP for search Marissa Mayer said “Our search results have to mirror the [net's] richness,”  Mayer said. “It’s not just about 10 blue links; its about the best answers.

“We don’t know what search will look like 30 years from now, but what we do know is that they will be more personalized,” Mayer said.
