Jim Carrey has no regrets for turning down ‘Meet The Parents’ role

London, Dec 17 (ANI): Hollywood actor Jim Carrey insists that he has no regrets after passing over his role in 2000 movie ‘Meet The Parents’ to Ben Stiller.

The ‘Mask’ star revealed he created the original concept for the film and began developing the project with legendary director Steven Spielberg but both were forced to drop out due to scheduling commitments.

The part was then handed to Ben Stiller, who went on to make a hit sequel, Meet The Fockers, in 2004.

In an interview to talkshow host Larry King, Carrey admitted that he is glad to walk out of the away from the project, because Stiller was much better suited to the role.

“Meet the Parents was something that I was developing with Steven Spielberg. Yes. I actually created the Fockers in a creative meeting. Yes, the Daily Express quoted him as saying.

But, it was perfect that Ben Stiller did it. When I saw it, I went ”That’’s the way it’’s supposed to be done”,” he added. (ANI)
