Oprah unveils chimp victim Charla’s face!
Charla Nash, the chimp victim was on Oprah Winfrey show, this Wednesday. She did the undone by revealing her face for the first in public, after the attack. The 55 year old had a pretty normal life before she was attacked on February 2009 by her friend’s chimpanzee.
Charla was a pretty lady who was in her old friend; Sandra Herold’s house that fatefulday. Sandra had 200 pound chimp, Travis in her home and that day she asked Charla for helping her put Travis in his pet home. Travis went wild and started brutally attacking Charla by ripping her hands, nose, lips, and eyes off.
Little did Charla know that helping her friend would result in her loss of face and hands! She has recovered from her injuries and she is stable but she doesn’t have a face today. She breathes with a artificial respirator as she doesn’t have a nose and she takes liquids as her meal through straws which are sucked in through a small hole in her face, which previously had her mouth.
Charla showed great courage by coming out in public and revealing her face. She still has the will to live and hopes for a face and hand implant. She has shown an amazing example of human resilience.
For those haven’t seen her face yet, here is the link
