Balloon Boy Publicity Stunt Comes To A Tragic End!

The balloon boy saga finally came to an end as the parents were pleaded guilty to criminal charges of staging the incident in a publicity-seeking hoax.

It all started in October 15th when husband and wife Richard and Mayumi Heene reported that their 6-year-old son, Falcon, had accidentally sailed away in a silver, saucer-shaped helium balloon. The couple gained worldwide attention as well as sympathy through this event.

The balloon kept on flying for 50 miles as it was followed by National Guard helicopters.  The balloon later landed empty near Denver International Airport and it was discovered that the boy was never in the balloon, he was safe and sound at the family attic.

Soon the world wide sympathy turned into a worldwide outrage, criminal investigation was lodged and the mother soon admitted that it was all a publicity stunt as she and her husband aimed at making the family marketable for a reality TV show.
The couple agreed to the plea after being threatened of Mayumi’s deportation. Mayumi is Japanese and she was said that she could be deported if the case goes further and she is proved guilty.

A judge will ultimately determine the Heenes’ penalty a month from now after pre-sentencing reports are filed.
