The right time has not come for the marriage between Joel Madden and Nicole Richie

Joel Madden the lead vocalist for the band Good Charlotte, a record producer, actor, and a DJ started dating Hilary Duff in 2004, when she was 16 years old and he 25. In November 2006, Madden and Hilary broke up after two and a half years relationship. Madden started dating Nicole Richie soon after his break up with Hilary Duff.

Nicole Richie is an American actress, author, socialite, celebutante, singer, and personality. Both Nicole and Madden have a daughter and a son. Their daughter Harlow Winter Kate Madden was born in January 11, 2008 and son Sparrow James Midnight Madden was born in September 9, 2009.

“The Richie Madden Children’s Foundation” was created by Richie and Joel Madden in November 2007. In May 2008, Nicole and Joel shot a UNICEF public-service announcement to generate aid for the cyclone-devastated Myanmar

Madden has denied rumours of him and partner Nicole Ritchie tying the knot in a secret ceremony. The Good Charlotte rocker has denied the reports on his band’s website.

“I keep getting emails from old friends and family asking about a wedding. NO we didn’t get married,” Us magazine quoted Madden as saying.

Last May, in an interview to CNN’s Larry King Richie had said that they have no immediate plans get married. “I think for both of us, we are going to do it because we want to, not because that’s what you do,” Richie had said.

“We’re going to do it when the time’s right,” she had added.
