Television Series ‘Mad Men’ signs off with a bang.

So long Mad Men!
The long running iconic television series ‘Mad Men’ drew to a close with the season finale episode on Sunday. The acclaimed Emmy winning Paul Weiner drama set in the 60’s, centered around ad men who lived by on illusion, imbuing products which people don’t need, with virtues they don’t have. Their world built around a prevailing late 50’s fantasy, one that lets them believe that their monopoly on power is just fine with people, be they blacks, gays and women as they are shut out.
Not to mention the ubiquitous Don Draper, whose post war life was created out of his own imagination and will. In Sunday’s widely watched third season finale, the audience got to see more of the real Don, marked by a performance from Jon Hamm which brought out a never before seen fusion of his usual subtlety with a more open, passionate exuberance.
In addition to the emotional repercussions brought out as before, the upheavals at last night’s finale were far more personal. In a dispiriting meeting with Conrad Hilton, Don discovered that Sterling Cooper was about to be sold again and him with it. And to add a welcome novelty to a show where things usually happen slowly, transformed into a show where momentous events follow one another and in far more upbeat fashion than is the Mad Men norm. And this was one of the many unforgettable scenes which has over three seasons, made this show a must watch.
Hence for all those who tuned into the season finale episode, it would not be too far out to say that a superb season got capped off by a perfect finale.

It’s Matthew Weiner not “Paul Weiner”.
