Grammy Award-winning R&B artist and the Russian Roulette singer Rihanna approached guitarist Nuno Bettencourt, of US band Extreme, to play on the record for her new album which will be released on Nov 23rd. The Barbados-born singer – who made a return to the UK this week to preview her hop LP ‘Rated R’ and it’s dark new sound – wanted it to be even rockier but her record label had a “seizure”.
Nuno told Britain’s Daily Star newspaper: “I think the label had a seizure so they went down another route.”
He even told to Daily Star that before Rihanna there were many pop artist who approched him but he didn’t play with them as they didn’t get the vive! But when he approached Rihanna she was totally into transforming herself into a heavy rock chick. She was totally inspired by Led Zappelin and Paramore and said that was the kind of direction she wanted to go for! That is the reason why Nuno said yes!
We hope that the sale of her album brings a lot of money under her umbrella
