Preview of Singh is Kinng: superhit already?
A few hours are left before we can see one of the most awaited and hyped movies of the Season - The Akshay Kumar starrer “Singh is Kinng“. Everything about the movie just seems perfect. The Vipul Shah, Anees Bazmee and Akshay Kumar trio has delivered successful films like Namaste London and Welcome in the past. Katrina Kaif looks good with Akshay on-screen and is now one of the leading ladies of Bollywood. Apparently the film’s cost has come up to 55-60 crores. Out of that, most of the money has been recovered by advance booking of prints and sale of music albums.
All said and done, the film rests on the strong shoulders of Akshay Kumar who has been giving hit films silently and consistently. What audience is looking for is a laudable performance from Akshay Kumar and normally Kumar never fails to deliver.
Akshay Kumar plays Happy Singh in the movie - A king at heart: Brave, compassionate, noble and helpful. But he’s an equally flawed human - gullible, foolhardy and accident - prone. Circumstances often overwhelm him and his efforts to do good almost always have the opposite effect- guess this is where the laughs and guffaws will come from!
Katrina Kaif plays Sonia: She is a chirpy, fun-loving student of law who loses her cool only when confronted by criminals. But nothing prepares her for the twist fate has in store for her when she finds herself surrounded by some of the most dangerous gangsters in Australia! We don’t expect her to be any different from her previous avtars. She has to look charming, beautiful and sexy. Acting has never been her forte though she has been showing signs of improvement!
The plot of the movie is expectedly very unreal. The village lad Akshay becomes the underworld king in Australia and romances the eternal beauty Kaif. It all begins when a small village in Punjab decides to get rid of its most troublesome do-gooder and sends him to fetch the dreaded king of the Au stralian underworld, who happens to be from the same village, thus ruining its reputation outside India, and also the cause of concern for his ailing parents.
But Happy Singh doesn’t just miss his flight to Australia and find love amidst Egyptian pyramids, but he also ends up becoming the king in Kangaroo land and reducing a bunch of dangerous gangsters into servants of a poor florist who’s forced to maintain a charade of affluence before her visiting daughter and boyfriend. But Happy, who is optimistic that everything in life happens for good, realizes the significance of this deviation in their journey when he meets the stunningly beautiful Sonia (Katrina Kaif) on the streets of Cairo.
In a nutshell, you could leave your anxieties, worries, tensions and brain back at home and be mesmerized by the adventures of the Kinng!
