Mischa Barton: A trademark battle against Mischa Barton

In keeping the fact that Mischa Barton had some well-publicized personal issues recently doesn’t mean her powers are going to disappear from certain close-to-home storylines.

The gorgeous actress was back in LA after spending the last few weeks checking out runways all over the world.

She looked busy with handful of tasks. Mischa always seems to have a few films in the works. Considering her lack of box office success in the past, we’re more interested to see how her love for fashion will influence her upcoming accessories line.

Lately Mischa Barton is enclosed in a legal battle with an Australian handbag company, after the association resists the star’s move to trademark her name in the country.

The actress who wants to trademark her name, signature and logo in the area of Australia has been met with opposition from Queensland.

The Daily Express reports, “The Queensland-based Mischa Accessories has even filed an objection with the IP Australia register to prevent Barton from trade marking her name in the country.”

Yet, nothing has come to evidence whether Barton will follow the case legally. The case is similar to a trademark battle between Katy Perry and her Australian namesake Katie Perry, who runs a clothing line in the country.

The American singer Katy Perry ’s legal team took the designer to court in July 2009 over the right to use the name, but abandoned the case just an hour before it was due to be heard by a judge in Canberra, Australia.
