Elvis Aron was a tad superior then King of Pop Michael Jackson.

A comparison between the undisputed ‘King of Pop’ Michael Jackson & the ‘King of Rock and Roll’ Elvis Aron Presley is a futile exercise as both stormed into the showbiz and catapulted the music industry to paramount & unparallel heights. Though the debate will rage on forever, following 5 arguments push Presley an inch ahead of Jacko. :-

1. Background- Elvis battled abysmal poverty and rose to stardom like a phoenix rising from the ashes. Michael, despite childhood traumas, was slightly better-off & received immense guidance from his music-enriched family.

2. Geo-political situation- Post World War II , when the world was still reeling under the after-effects of atomic explosion, Elvis broke all social & political barriers by single-handedly pioneering the ‘Rock & Roll culture’ and webbing the globe with a monochord of musical euphoria. Michael, despite his black origin, had it easier as he bloomed at a time when the industry was awaiting a genius to fill in the void left by Presley’s unfathomable los.

3. Female fan-following- Though Jacko stole millions of hearts through his break-dancing nos. , signature ‘moonwalk’ & curly locks, Elvis earned himself an outrageous no. of feminine admirers through his strikingly magnetic looks, mesmerizing charisma & duck-tailed hairstyle.

4. Technology & Media-coverage- Contrary to Michael’s easy access to a flourishing technology & broader media-coverage in the 80’s, Presley had limited resources but still sent ripples of mellifluous euphony across all continents.

5. Scandals & Controversies- Jacko’s scandalous life was plagued with horrors of drug-abuse, charges of child-molestations & allegations of skin-embleachment. Elvis, comparatively, stayed miles away from such stainful scandals.

Conclusion: 32 years after his departure, Elvis-Presley-frenzy continues. 3 decades later, would the Michael-mania survive???

Musically, Elvis is absolutely nothing compared to Michael. Michael, truly one of the great musical visionaries of our time has cemented his place in history as a musical Icon, if not GENIUS. An amazingly gifted singer, composer, dancer, director, producer… the list continues. Truly multi-talented. I’ve got nothing against Elvis, but musically he doesn’t even come close.

It’s funny I’ve seen several Elvis is better than Michael or Elvis is still King articles. I haven’t seen any saying Michael is better than Elvis or is the new King. I guess you can take that two ways but to me it seems that Elvis admirers have to keep reinforcing that Elvis is better than Michael. Michael Jackson admirers do not seem to have a need to even mention Elvis. Go figure.

But Michael inspired a whole current generation of young artist. I cannot tell you the last time I heard a young singer or dancer mention Elvis as the entertainers career they aspire to match. It’s always Michael Jackson no matter the race or gender.

Michael out sold Elvis, out danced Elvis, and all around just left him in the dust. I believe 30yrs from now they will still talk about trying to break the Thriller record sales. Michael will be around for a long time.

Sorry, but there is no chance of Elvis ever being better than Michael Jackson. Michael totally belongs to a class of his own.

There were and are many artists that are way better than Elvis Presley, let alone the King of them all, MJ!

Michael Jackson mania will survive more than 100 year!! Elvis was a amateur singer!!! You can’t compare elvis with the Michael Jackson!!! Michael was 100 light year ahead of elvis in singing, music, creativity and performance!!! but he was black that is why he is ”wacko jacko”. Elvis was white that is why he is still popular.

Can i add something mr. /ms. hugs? – MIchael sold 750,000 copies during his lifetime, Elvis sold ONLY 500,000 in his lifetime. Michael is famous and loved every continent in the world, Elvis is famous in US and othe western countries. Michael write his own songs, unlike Elvis who has a black song writer. Michael is a superstar at the age of 6. Elvis? 20
And about your question if the Michael mania will survive in decades?
Definetely yes. He was famous since he was a child until the day he die. And as long as we see and hear those artist who imitate his moves and music (timberlake, beyonce, usher, chris brown etc.) and those coming generation who influenced by his music, his legacy will stay forever.

But these posts are just meant to ruffle feathers, nothing more.

lol.. Elvis ’stole’ or if one will be kind .. to say– was ‘inspired’ by black musicians and made it acceptable to white america.. Hound Dog was originally sung by a blackman.. the ducktail was Chuck Berry’s look.. as for rock & roll.. wasn’t that originally done by another white singer.. who did ROCK AROUND THE CLOCK?? that one!

Elvis.. never wrote his own songs.. and he can gyrate & swivel.. no doubt– he had enormous charisma.. and had a good voice.. the right guy came came along at t he right time..

MICHAEL JACKSON?? HE TRANSCENDENTED RACE.. enough said.

Anyone can have their personal view on who is better. But with the biggest selling album and the three of the biggest concert tours in the history of and also Guinness World Records has recognized Michael as the “Most Successful Entertainer of All Time”, Michael is definitely ahead of Elvis musically. For those who are not sure check the Wikipedia on Michael’s achievements. There is no question that Michael is the most famous Human in the 20th Century. Just google the words “Michael Jackson” and “Elvis Presley” and you will see for yourself who is more famous.

As for who is more talented just see the youtube and judge for yourself. There has not been any entertainer that can be compared to Michael when it comes to the talent. He is in league of his own.

In the last point the author mention about drug abuse and controversies. If you do a google search you will see Elvis had a bigger drug problem in his later years. And he is notorious for sleeping with underage girls. It is well known factor that Elvis could not perform well in his later years. Basically he was out of shape and could not remember his lyrics. Anybody who has seen the “This is it” movie will know that Michael at the age 50 still performed like a 25 year old.

When people will look back at the 20th century Michael will be recognized as the biggest and the most influential artist of the 20th century.

Michael was bigger than Elvis when he was alive.
Michael was bigger than Elvis in death.
Michael will be bigger than Elvis after death.

Elvis did not single-handedly pioneer the ‘Rock & Roll culture’. There are others who have been credited for pioneering the ‘Rock & Roll culture’. Some believe the credit should go to Little Richards. It is accepted fact that Elvis and other White artist simply copied it from the Black artist who pioneered it.
According to the Wikipedia there is couple of conte
nders for the title “King of Rock and Roll”, namely
    1. Chuck Berry
    2. Fats Domino
    3. Alan Freed
    4. Bill Haley
    5. Elvis Presley
    6. Little Richard

As for the comparison of Elvis with Michael, there is no dought that Michael is Bigger and a more influential icon than Elvis around the world. We all know Michael has outdone Elvis musically. The records and the awards prove them. Michael has won more awards than any artist in the history of the music industry. Michael influence in not limited just to US. His influence can be clearly seen from Bollywood movies to new generation Chinese pop artists not to mentioned all the western artist that has be influence by him.

PS: Elvis was protected from scandals because of the era he was in. He was well-protected by Col Parker–and Hal Wallis & the studios.

what will the present tabloid mania make of his keeping an underaged girl like Priscilla at Graceland ?( who was lamely mentioned in fan mags of period but kept at arms length for any more gossip) how his drug addiction was kept quiet by his Memphis Mafia & the Colonel..in fact, his posse started revealing his pill popping before he died.. and Elvis was fit to be tied by it’s revelations.

it’s all apples & oranges to even compare MJ with Elvis.

I am not saying wacko wasn`t good he surely was but as for sales, research what you write about and I mean FACTS not what you think.

    E’ RIDICOLO!!!!!!
Gli artisti “POP” fanno tutto perche’ non sanno fare bene niente.
A 32 anni dalla sua morte (1977) Elvis è vivo più che mai.

Who wrote this lopped sided article, bias article? Some uninformed Elvis nut.

!. What Music enriched family did Michael Jackson have. Just about every black family living in the time of Michael Jackson era in the early 60 and 70’s sang at home, on the street corners and someone in the family had a guitar and played it. That not considered musically enriched.

2.Michael, despite his black origin, had it easier as he bloomed at a time when the industry was awaiting a genius to fill in the void left by Presley’s unfathomable los

You fool, there were places Michael could not perform at because he was Black. You are so stupid, Michael was the first Black performer on MTV and that was in the 80’s you are a nut case if you think anything came easy for him.

    3. admirers through his strikingly magnetic looks, mesmerizing charisma & duck-tailed hairstyle.

Stupid fool again if you think women like Michael for his dancing you are lost. You obviously haven’t seen Michael Jackson perform in his “GOLD PANTS” All I can say is Yummy, Yummy and you obviously haven’t seen him perform “come together” with those black leather pants, “Blood on the dance floor” with his red leather pants all I can say is “DAMN” by the way we ain’t looking at the pants we’re looking at the package wrapped in those pants “DAMN” AGAIN.

5 Elvis, comparatively, stayed miles away from such stainful scandals.

Michael Jackson did not molest anyone, did not bleach his skin and was not a drug addict. You obviously didn’t hear about the autopsy report. NO ILLEGAL, LEGAL OR ALCOHOL WAS FOUND IN HIS SYSTEM ONLY DRUGS FOUND WAS WHAT THE DOCTOR GAVE HIM

A quote from Priscilla Presley In her autobiography, Elvis and Me,
Elvis and Priscilla met in 1959 at a party in Bad Nauheim, Germany during his stay in the army. She was 14 years old at the time. They quickly began a romantic relationship and were frequently together until Elvis left Germany in 1960

She was 14 years old and Elvis was 24 what do you call that? She moved into graceland with him when she was only 15 years old. And Elvis died of a self inflicted drug overdose. THE PROBLEM IS BECAUSE THIS IS ELVIS YOU DON’T SEE THESE AS SCANDALS BUT THEY ARE.

YOU NEED A NEW HOBBY BECAUSE THIS AIN’T WORKING FOR YOU.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. But I can tell you this- I saw both Elvis and Michael Jackson perform live. Michael live in concert did not hold a candle to Elvis. I saw it with my own eyes. I have attended hundreds of concerts from all genres of music. Everybody is jumping on the boat to make a buck off of MJ. Years ago when he was in The Wiz, or was on any number of TV shows- people did not turn out in mass to view him (as did most of the viewing public for Elvis. This is all history being rewritten for people to young to know better. Whatever. They were both great, but the world is so different now. The dollar is worth about 14 cents now as to Elvis’ lifetime. Billboard charts did not exist, and you had to actually go in person to purchase the product. W/O E…no MJ.

I hope that insted of arguing, if you really love music, that you would take the time to explore the history of recorded music. There is no need to tear anyone down. The true greats always outlast the trends. And truth be told, when everything is adjusted it was actually Bing Crosby who was bigger than Elvis, the Beatles, or Michael Jackson. My how times change. Nuovo record per Elvis Presley.
Il Re del Rock&Roll è per il Guinness dei Primati, l’artista di maggiore successo nella storia della musica. Elvis è infatti in testa alla classifica dei 100 artisti più famosi inseriti nel “Book Of British Hit Singles & Albums”, pubblicato annualmente dall’editrice Guinness World Records.
La classifica viene stilata sulla base del numero totale di settimane trascorse nelle hit parade del Regno Unito da singoli e album di ciascun artista.
I Beatles occupano solo la terza posizione, seguiti dai Queen, da Madonna e da Elton John

The Smithsonian Institute said Elvis Presley, more than any other American musical performer, paved the way for black American music to move out of the juke joints onto radio America, TV networks and into our pop culture.

AS TO WHO DID WHAT FIRST. FORGET YOUR UNINFORMED NOTIONS. HERE IS THE ORDER THAT THESE ARTIST FIRST RECORDED.

NOTE THAT ELVIS WAS IN THE STUDIO RECORDING BEFORE CHUCK, LITTLE RICHARD, BO DIDDLEY, etc.

Jackie Brenston’s “Rocket 88,” 3 March or 5 March 1951 (accounts differ) possibly the first rock and roll record.
bill haley: June 1951: Bill Haley records a cover of Jackie Brenston’s “Rocket 88,” possibly qualifying it as the first rock and roll record by a white artist.
1953: Bill Haley records “Crazy, Man, Crazy,” one of the first times a performer incorporated teen slang into a popular song.
April 12, 1954: Bill Haley and His Comets record “Rock Around the Clock” at Pythian Temple, a New York studio.
elvis presley: July 5th, 1954, Thats alright / Blue Moon of Kentucky, (E first recorded in ‘53 but were ballads) continued at sun til Nov ‘55.
bo diddley: March 1955, records “I’m a man” & “bo diddley” for chess records.
chuck berry: on May 21, 1955 Berry covered the country song “Ida Red” (renamed “Maybellene”)
little richard: September 13, 1955: Little Richard enters Cosimo Matassa’s J&M Studios in New Orleans for the first time.
carl perkins: Movie Magg” and “Turn Around” were released on the Phillips owned Flip label March 19, 1955. These were country ballads.
“Blue Suede Shoes” was recorded December, 1955, and released January 1, 1956 on the Sun label.
buddy holly: Holly turned to rock music after seeing Elvis Presley sing live in Lubbock in early 1955. They first recorded on July 22, 1956
jerry lee lewis: November 14, 1956: Jerry Lee Lewis cuts his first record – “End of the Road” b/w “Crazy Arms” for Sun.

Elvis created the musical revolution that lead to the Beatles and later MJ. This can never be underestimated. European fans may say they prefer MJ, but they live in countries liberated by America
(what other country has given you your soverignty back after a war?) and Elvis handed that rockin’ revolution right to them.
