Christian Bale never saw coverage of Heath Ledgers death

Washington, May 7 (ANI): Christian Bale has said that he never saw any coverage of Dark Knight co-star Heath Ledgers death, as he believed that he knew him better than what was being shown in media.
The Batman star has claimed that he would switch off the TV whenever anything regarding Ledger was telecast.
“I paid no attention to it. I knew him, I knew the family and why the hell would I sit there listening to idiots who dont know anything at all? I literally didnt read anything, didnt watch anything [after he died], Fox News quoted Bale as saying.
He added: If I happened to be watching anything that came on, I switched over straightaway. Its incredible the way the voyeuristic outlook is accepted as news.
The 35-year-old singer said that Ledger was one of his few friends in the industry.
Bale said: Many times Ill work with actors and I can tell theyre thinking, What are you doing? Why are you going that far with it? or Youre nuts! With Heath, I could feel him going, I love it! It felt like we were really pushing each other on, to the limits of where you can go with it.
He added: He was a good guy. Theres not a lot of actors who I stay in touch with. But Heath was one of them.”
Heath Ledger died of drug overdose in January last year. (ANI)
