Chris Brown asks Rihanna to refrain from spilling beans on assault.

Taking cognizance of her interview with Dianne Sawyer on primetime American television, Rihanna’s former beau and R&B sensation Chris Brown has asked her not to spill any further beans about the infamous ‘assault and black eye episode’ nine months back.

Said Brown, “The details should remain between us”, referring to last week’s primetime interview on American current affairs programme 20/20. In second part of that interview aired last week, Rihanna recounted her bitter exchange of words with Brown as they were on their way back from an industrial party on February 8.

As per Rihanna’s version of events that day, what ticked her off was a text message which Chris allegedly received from another woman but refused to accept. Said she, “I caught him in a lie and he wouldn’t tell me the truth. And I wouldn’t drop it.” With a probing Dianne Sawyer not in a mood to relent, Rihanna opened out further and said, “I couldn’t take that he kept lying to me and he couldn’t take that I wouldn’t drop it …. And it was ugly.” The police reports about the incident states that Brown bit her, put her in a head lock and punched her several times in the face. On being queried on the same Rihanna nodded in the affirmative.

Fighting back tears and struggling visibly to put the whole experience in words, Rihanna said that, “I fended him off with my feet. He had no soul in his eyes. Just blank, he was clearly blacked out. There was no person when I looked at him. It was almost as if he had nothing to lose. He had so much to lose. It wasn’t the same person that says I love you. It definitely wasn’t those eyes.”  Probing further Dianne asked if his being drunk could have been the reason for the events, to which Rihanna replied that they both were sober that night.

Recalling the wounds she sustained after his assault, Rihanna said, “I was battered. I was bleeding.I was swollen in the face. So there was no way of me getting home… except to get out of the car and walk.”

It’s the event of skeletons tumbling out in public space that has apparently embarrassed Chris and has caused him to ask her to refrain.
